Materials

PLA

Best suited for low‑stress, indoor, non‑load‑bearing parts that you need printed quickly and cheaply.

Ideal for decorative prints, fit-check prototypes and design validation.

Available in transparent, silk and colour gradient finishes.

PETG

Best for functional, durable parts that need toughness, moderate heat resistance, and good chemical/weather resistance, while still being relatively efficient to print.

Ideal for functional parts that will experience UV exposure and require higher strength than PLA can provide.

Available in both gloss and matte finishes.

TPU

Best for flexible, impact‑resistant parts that need rubber‑like behaviour rather than rigid plastic.

Ideal for parts that require 'squish' or flexibility. Some examples include phone cases, seals and vibration dampening.

Available in various durometers.

Engineering-Grade Filaments

Best for parts that require mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance and increased durability.

Available engineering grade filaments include Nylon and ABS/ASA. Carbon Fibre reinforced filaments are also available for increased strength, stiffness and abrasion resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my model can't be printed?

Not all shapes and sizes can be successfully printed. All models are checked by a human before they go into production, and if any issues arise we will get in contact with you to discuss a solution. If one cannot be reached we will happily refund your order!

Can I cancel or change my order after it is placed?

If you have made a mistake with your order, please contact us at hi@axisshift.com.au as quickly as possible to rectify any issues. Orders cannot be changed or cancelled once they are already in production.

When will I get my order?

Lead times depend on the size of your order, but with a large farm of fast 3D Printers at our disposal, most orders are shipped within 3 business days. If your order will take longer than this standard time frame, we will contact you with a revised lead time.

If you need your order quickly, we recommend you select Express Shipping at checkout.

What is the best material for my part?

This is very situation dependant, but the majority of non load bearing parts that are kept indoors are best printed using PLA. It has the best surface finish, and is fast to print which results in a cheaper per unit price.

If your part is used outdoors, PETG is a fantastic option. It is UV stable, and has the added benefit of extra strength and stiffness as versus PLA, so is a good fit for functional parts.
